We shared 5 completely free workshops from our conference vaults as part of Season 2 of the Tips for Homeschool Science Show. Each of these workshops will help you as you create your plans for science in your homeschool. 

We broke each of the sessions up into three 15 to 20-minute podcasts, but we also shared videos of each session on our YouTube channel.

Workshop #1 - The Three Keys for Teaching Science at Home

Session Description: In this session, Paige details the three key ingredients for teaching science in your homeschool. She also provides several tools and methods you can use to apply the keys to your homeschool education plan from preschool through high school.

Here are the three session episodes:

Workshop #2 - Inspiring your students to love science through living books

Session Description: In this session, Paige defines what qualifies a book as “living” and shares how to use these resources effectively in your homeschool. She also gives several examples of how to foster a love of science in your students through the use living books as spines or supplements in your homeschool.

Here are the three session episodes:

  1. Ep 38 - Choosing & Using Living Books

Workshop #3 - I want to teach science, but these three hurdles stand in my way

Session Description: In this session, Paige tackles the top three reasons people are afraid to teach science –experience, experiments, and equipment. She provides tips to help you jump over each of these hurdles and get straight to the science-learning fun!

Here are the three session episodes:

Workshop #4 - Nature Study - the natural way to study science

Session Description:In this session, Paige explains what nature study is and where this method fits into science education. In the process, she shares about nature journals, how to use nature study with the whole family, and what nature study can look like in each of the seasons. You’ll be inspired to add this beneficial tool to your bag of science-teaching tricks!

Here are the three session episodes:

Workshop #5 - Eliminate your fears and doubts surrounding the science fair project

Session Description: In this session, Paige helps you move past the fear and doubt you have surrounding the much-dreaded science fair project! She shares 8 easy steps to complete a science fair project along with tips on when you should do one and advice for setting up a homeschool science fair co-op in your area.

Here are the three session episodes:

Plans for the Tips for Homeschool Science Show Season 3

We have come to the end of season 2, where we have been given you all an access pass into our conference vaults. I hope you have enjoyed these sessions, felt encouraged, and gained confidence in teaching science!

We’ll be taking a break for the summer, so we won’t have any new episodes. However, we will still be sharing your monthly science tips throughout the season!

Behind the scenes, we will be getting season 3 all ready for you guys. We’ll kick things off in August with a 5-day series that will help you get ready for the next year of science. And then we’ll follow it up with 10 new episodes where I am going to share a few homeschool science tips I have learned from my 10+ years of homeschooling.

It’s going to be a great season on the podcast and we are really looking forward to sharing it with you all!
