Sassafras Science Series (Best for ages 5 to 12, grades K to 6)
Go on a semester-long, story-based adventure with the Sassafras Twins as they travel the world learning science through the living books in the Sassafras Science Series! Here's the typical progression:
- K: {Pre-Adventure} Summer's Lab (This program is a full year.)
- 1st: Sassafras Science Zoology and Sassafras Science Anatomy
- 2nd: Sassafras Science Adventures Botany and Sassafras Science Earth Science
- 3rd: Sassafras Science Geology and Sassafras Science Astronomy
- 4th: Sassafras Science Chemistry and Sassafras Science Physics
The stories and novels deliver all the science in a way kids can’t wait to dive into. The instructor guides make planning your week simple and stress-free, while the student materials provide all the customized pages you need to create a scrapbook bursting with their own adventure notes.
SciQuest Science Series (Best for ages 9 to 14, grades 4 to 8)
A perfect next chapter after your Sassafras adventures! The SciQuest series brings the same story-driven joy to middle school with richer, stand-alone middle-grade novels packed with homeschooling hijinks and plenty of humor.
Below is the typical progression, but you can feel free to mix and match to suit your family's needs. (Note: The odd levels—100, 300, 500, and 700—study biology and earth science. The even levels—200, 400, 600, and 800—study chemistry and physics.)

The middle-grade novels launch each lesson with heart and laughs. The instructor guides gently support your student as they grow toward independent learning (in a super easy-to-use format).
