How to choose science curriculum that will work for you:

Step 1: Determine your goals for teaching science by asking:

• What do I have to prepare my student for?
• What do I want to instill in my student about science?
• Is there anything that I must teach my student?

Step 2: Determine your student’s learning style. There arefour basic learning styles:

• Visual 
• Auditory
• Tactile 
• Kinesthetic

Step 3: Determine how you would prefer to learn by asking:

• Would we prefer to learn about science from a textbook, encyclopedia, or living book? 
• Would we prefer to learn about science outdoors or through indoor scientific tests? 
• Would we prefer to learn about science through notebooking or through worksheets? 
• Would we prefer to enrich our science study time with hands-on learning projects?

Step 4: Determine what you would like to study by asking: 

• What would I like to see my student learn this year? 
• What would my student like to study this year?
