Magnetic slime - a super fun science activity!!

This past month, Paige shared about how you can teach physics at home. Now we want to share a super fun science activity you can use to play and learn about physics - magnetic slime!

How to make Magnetic Slime

You will need white glue, water, iron fillings, some Borax, and a few magnets. Here is how you make your own magnetic slime.

In a plastic baggie, mix:

  • 4oz white glue
  • 4oz of water
  • about a half teaspoon of iron filings

In a cup, mix:

  • a quarter cup of water
  • half a teaspoon of Borax

Then, add the Borax solution to the baggie and massage the bag for a few minutes until a nice firm slime has formed.

And then the magnetic fun really begin!

Use the magnets to play around with the slime and pull it in different directions. You can also test the strength of a magnet by seeing how much of the slime it can pull up.
